Monster Energy Nitro Super Dry Review

Opened can up, and to my surprise it didn’t bubble out everywhere like a lot of “nitro” products. So far so good.

Smells of citrus. Mainly getting an orange, grapefruit-esque zesty fragrance.

Poured out it looks radioactive. A Shrek-like Nickelodeon-slime looking drink. This would work well on halloween. I recommend leaving it in the can though, as the nitro goes flat rather quickly.

First sip: Yep, that’s gotta be grapefruit. The citrus flavors are blended very well to mask the tart/bitterness that grapefruit haters typically dislike. The nitrogen is welcome as it makes the drink feel creamy and floaty as intended. For a citrus drink this feels strange to me. No explosive fizzy citrus blast hitting the back of your throat as you swallow? Instead it goes down smooth. A unique experience with this flavor profile.

It doesn’t taste like regular monster at all. In fact, it tastes more like a Nos, or the Red Bull: Yellow edition. As a fan of Nos and other citrus energy drinks I’d say this one fits in with the crowd, but with a niche twist. I also can’t help but compare it to Sunny-D or Tampico. The tangy smoothness, and thick syrup-like viscosity gives off similar vibes.

I really don’t know why they named It “super dry”. It’s incredibly sweet like any other energy drink. 51G of sugar in this 16oz can.

7.5/10 good.
