Casey’s “Happyness by the Pint: Peanut Butter Me Up” Ice Cream Review

Mikey State: Stoned

Bought From: Casey’s General Store

First thing I notice is that upon opening the lid, there’s a paper peel off top. I didn’t expect this from Casey’s General Store ice cream. I appreciate this, as it ensures nobody has licked the top (like that gross old internet trend)…

Diving in to the bowl I’m met with a dense chocolate ice cream base. The texture isn’t bad, dense yet soft enough to spoon after just coming out of the freezer. The chocolate taste reminds me somewhat of a Fudgcicle. Somehow it’s worse. It’s not my favorite, but it’s not terrible either..

My favorite part has to be the caramel swirls and cookie dough bites. They’re always a welcome break from the very mediocre chocolate base ice cream. The problem is that they seem like a rarity, and so does everything else. The mix-in volume is much lower than that of your typical Ben and Jerry’s pint. The peanut butter bits don’t help, as they are small and don’t have a very good peanut butter flavor. I feel that the peanut butter’s flavor is masked by the rich chocolate ice cream base.

If you like a lot of mediocre chocolate ice cream, with some cookie dough, this might be an option.

6/10, won’t buy again.
